JOB DESCRIPTION:

Digital Auxilius is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT System Administrator to join our team, who will be  responsible for providing technical support, maintaining hardware and software systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess a strong knowledge of IT systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, with or without team.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Senior System Administrator with a strong foundation in network management, security, and IT best practices. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in setting up, maintaining, and evolving the company's IT infrastructure. They will also play a pivotal role in training and guiding our growing IT team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network & Systems Management:
    • Design, implement, and maintain company-wide network infrastructures.
    • Manage active directory administration and new account setups.
    • Monitor network communication and ensure smooth performance.
    • Establish and maintain support for firewall and network systems.
    • Run system performance reports for the team and wider organization.
    • Monitor, maintain, and ensure the security of database systems.
  2. Security & Risk Management:
    • Ensure systems are secure, protected from breaches, and free of viruses.
    • Develop and maintain all cybersecurity protocols.
    • Risk mitigation planning.
    • Monitor and maintain logs of all system activities, including browsing and file sharing.
    • Implement controls to limit port usage and data transfer outside of the organization, such as disabling USB ports and restricting access to file-sharing sites.
  3. User & Credential Management:
    • Oversee and manage staff and user credentials and frameworks.
    • Implement and oversee access controls to maintain data integrity and security.
  4. Troubleshooting & Support: 
    • Resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner. 
    • Offer technical support to employees across various departments. 
    • Maintain a detailed and organized log of all IT issues and resolutions.
  5. Hardware & Infrastructure Maintenance:
    • Ensure the upkeep of internal infrastructure, including desktop computers, laptops, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, and other related equipment.
    • Regularly support and update internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
  6. Team Development & Training:
    • Supervise and mentor junior IT staff.
    • Create a training curriculum for new hires and existing staff.
    • Stay updated with the latest IT trends.
    • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies.
  7. Flexibility:
    • Must be available outside of regular working hours to address downtime or critical scenarios.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Following certifications will be a plus
    1. CCNA/CCNP, MCSE, or equivalent.
    2. CISSP, CISM, or related security certifications.

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system administration, with a proven record in managing large networks.
  • Prior experience in building or significantly scaling an IT department is a must.
  • ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 Implementation or Auditing will be preferred.

Skills: 

  • Proficient in various networking protocols, firewall management, and security protocols.
  • Strong understanding of various operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows, macOS).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (Microsoft Azure etc).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.

Job-Status and Schedule:
  • Full-time, Onsite, Karachi
  • Monday to Friday 10am - 6pm
